StageBuilder Pro ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use our web application at stagebuilderpro.com (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase authentication). If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google.
Profile Information. During onboarding you may optionally provide your full name, professional role (e.g., Audio Engineer, Lighting Designer), and company or organization name. This information is stored in your user profile.
Stage Plot Data. Any stage plots you create and save are stored in our database (Supabase) and associated with your account. Plots you work on without an account are stored only in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to our servers.
Usage Data. We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how people use the Service: pages visited, features used (for example exporting a PDF, placing an item or starting a checkout), session duration, browser and device type, the page that referred you, and approximate location (down to city level). PostHog looks your location up from your IP address and then discards the address; it is not stored with your analytics data. When you are signed in, PostHog links this activity to your account's internal ID and plan (Free, Pro, Elite or Lifetime). We do not send your name or email address to analytics, and analytics never receives the content of your plots: plot names, item labels, notes, input lists and AI Builder descriptions stay out of it.
Session Replay. PostHog records how pages respond as you use them (clicks, scrolling, page layout) so we can find and fix confusing or broken parts of the Service. Everything typed into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser, and in the editor, account and billing pages all text is masked as well. The 3D stage view itself is not recorded.
Error Reports. When the app hits an error, PostHog receives a technical report (the error message, where in our code it happened, browser and page) so we can fix it.
Payment Events. When a subscription starts, changes, is cancelled or a payment fails, we record that event, with the plan and amount, against your account's internal ID so we can measure what's working. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us or our analytics.
AI Builder Usage. When you use the AI Stage Plot Builder (the "✨ Build" feature), we record the description you type, together with what the builder made of it: the items and positions it recognized, how many items it placed, and any words it did not understand. These records are associated with your account. We use them only to improve how the builder understands stage descriptions, for example by adding equipment names and phrasings it missed, and by testing changes against real descriptions. When you press Build, the description is sent to Google's Gemini API (a paid Google Cloud service) so its AI model can lay it out, together with our own first reading of it and the stage size and equipment already on that plot (item types, names and positions); your name, email and account details are not sent. Under Google's paid-service terms, Google does not use these requests to train or improve its models, and keeps them for a limited period only to detect abuse. Descriptions are not used to train any other third-party AI model, and are not sold or shared. Please avoid including personal information about yourself or others in a description.
Technical Data. We automatically collect standard log data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs. This data is used for security, debugging, and service improvement.
Marketing communications. From time to time we may send you emails about new features, product news, and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time from your account settings or by contacting us at contact@stagebuilderpro.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional emails required to operate your account (e.g., password resets and security notices).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not serve targeted advertising.
User accounts and saved plots are stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure. Supabase encrypts data in transit (TLS) and at rest. We apply row-level security policies so that your data is accessible only by your account.
Plots created in guest mode (no account) are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage and are never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete guest plots.
No security system is impenetrable. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We use browser localStorage to store your current plot and application preferences (e.g., grid size, view mode). We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _gid) for session tracking; you can opt out via browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. PostHog stores a first-party cookie and localStorage entry (named ph_…) holding a random visitor ID, so activity across visits can be counted as one visitor; clearing your browser storage resets it.
We retain your account information and saved plots for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and saved plots within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
AI Builder usage records are retained on the same basis and deleted with your account. You can ask us to delete them at any time without deleting your account by contacting contact@stagebuilderpro.com.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email or via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
